Country Controller

AFRY recently opened offices in The Netherlands, in  Utrecht and Rotterdam. In The Netherlands, AFRY focuses on wind, process industries and management consulting. Due to the growth in The Netherlands, AFRY is now looking for a controller of the Dutch legal entity, who will also be overall finance responsible for Energy, Management Consulting and Process Industry division in The Netherlands.

Overall finance responsibility for AFRY Netherlands:

Performance monitoring &  strategy
  • Act as business partner to the business area heads and ‘own” the finance arena;
  • Ensure a “no surprises” approach to reporting and communication with Business Area, Division and Group;
  • Partner with Business Area management teams to develop the growth strategy and implementation plans and then actively monitor performance;
  • Support business in annual budget and quarterly estimate cycles;
  • Monthly reporting for all operating departments
  • Business risk management and compliance
  • Driving the budget process for all businesses operating on the platform
Management accounting requirements
  • Managing local OCOC (one country one company legal entity consolidation program)
  • Analyse financial business performance, identifying and reporting on trends
  • Provide regular financial management reports to senior management team;
  • Cost and budget monitoring and reporting;
  • Active cash management;
  • Compile monthly/quarterly/ad-hoc financial reports and analysis according to relevant accounting schedules for Division and Group;
  • Prepare year-end annual financial reports;
  • Responsible for the statutory accounts, audit and audit relationship;
  • Coach I support other team
Project control support
  • Actively monitor and report on project profitability to project managers and management teams;
  • Regularly review big, risky & loss making projects to reduce risk, maximise profitability and minimise loss:
  • Ensure project guidance process compliance for all projects and work does not commence without a contract;
  • Review permanent establishment and other project tax risks with group tax; and
  • Hedge foreign currency in conjunction with Group
Taxes and intercompany transfer pricing
  • Ensure all taxes are correctly filed and major risks have been identified and checked with Group and external tax advisors as appropriate;
  • Provide tax advice to project managers to ensure project tax risks are identified and mitigated;
  • Update transfer pricing documentation according to review and improve processes and share best practice across the organisation
  • Ensure that Group operating guidelines are known and followed;
  • Increase efficiency and quality for monthly and annual reporting;
  • Reduce complexity and implement standardisation;
  • Review internal and external audit findings and implement required
Systems support and expertise
  • Act as super user for ERP (Maconomy) and other group systems;
  • Provision of training and support to operational staff on ERP and other systems;
  • Development of BI reporting tool:
  • Active involvement in roll out of new systems developments;
Occasional Tasks
  • Participate in Division and Group Finance projects (systems implementation, BI development, etc.)
  • M&A support

 

Qualifications

AFRY is looking for a proactive and curious team player with great networking skills, who is able and used to work independently and has a the ability to understand the big picture and still care for details.

  • Strong business acumen and analytic skills with demonstrated ability to gather, analyze and present data.
  • Ability to organize and drive multiple projects and responsibilities as well as meet deadlines.
  • Strong sense of urgency. In order to prioritize from ad hoc requests and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Minimum of 5 years of comparable experience, possibly in an international environment and/or in a stock listed company preferably with project experience.
  • University degree within financial management or business control
  • Fluent in English and preferably Dutch, with writing skills in both languages.
  • Prior demonstrated experience in project accounting and project follow-up would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems like designed for project business 
  • Working experience with consolidation tools, ERP system IFS, Bl tools or Power BI, CRM Dynamics would be an added advantage.
